Athleta Basketball Club is one of the top basketball clubs in Malta and Gozo. During season 2007/8 our Men Seniors Team confirmed that we are one of the top teams by contesting 3 finals in the competitions organised by the Malta Basketball Association. The Senior Men’s team roll of honours in the last 10 seasons includes 6 championships, 5 KOs, 5 Louis Borg Cups, 3 MBA Shield competitions and 6 Super Cups, a total of 25 honours from a possible 48, indeed an impressive array. Joe Galea has been confirmed as Head Coach. Players Michael Naudi, Omar Said, Etienne Bezzina, Silvio Cassar, Kristin Baldacchino and Clayton Calleja will be once again playing for our team. We have also made important signings during the transfer period and our team will be strengthened by the inclusion of Eddison Bonnici, Julian Naudi, Chris Sammut, David Camilleri and Julien Valdiserra. The Women Seniors Team will be coached once again by Annie Jetcheva. Annie Jetcheva will also coach the girl teams from Under 20 to Under 13, Vlado Velev will coach the Boys and Girls Under 11 teams, Joe Miceli will coach the Mixed Under 9. We have also acquired the services of coach Dalibor Mijatovic who will coach the boys teams from Under 20 to Under 13.
